DCS has performed several successful robot integrations over the years. Writing PLC code to tightly integrate ABB and KUKA robots into highly automated cells, we have helped our customers improve productivity.

Working with your engineers, operators and other production staff, we can develop Functional Specifications for your application. We can include as part of the specification how a particular piece of equipment fits into an overall process. We can document how a particular piece of equipment interfaces to other equipment in the application. You can use this specification to have modifications or upgrades quoted. Finally, this specification can become part of the documentation for your process or application.

DCS understands equipment and controls. This knowledge enables us to evaluate processes and optimize the performance of your equipment. Whether it is a single machine or the entire process, we can find any inefficiencies and offer solutions for correcting them.

DCS has many years experience troubleshooting PLC controlled machinery. This experience allows us to solve difficult problems quickly. We will work with your maintenance personnel during the troubleshooting process and spend time explaining what we are looking at and our methodology. By involving your technicians, they will learn our techniques and become more efficient at resolving your problems without the need for outside assistance.

DCS can add custom HMIs to any of your existing applications. We can also include an HMI as a part of any new system which we provide to you. The HMI will have a consistent intuitive interface which your operators will find powerful and easy to use.

As your systems change, you may need to update your HMI to correspond with the changes. Additionally you may want to add diagnostic capabilities to your HMI to assist your maintenance personnel with system troubleshooting. DCS can provide these support services to our customers.

DCS can troubleshoot and repair many of your HMI problems. We can track down communications problems between your PLC or CNC Controls and the HMI. We can also repair links which are pointing to the wrong indicator or button on your HMI or reporting the wrong information.

Our team has experience applying COTS software from vendors such as Rockwell Automation and Wonderware. Our team can also produce custom solutions to meet your every need, because let’s face it not all problems can be solved with COTS software. We can provide windows scripting, VB/C# .Net development, Oracle and MS SQL server technologies to solve any data collection or integration problem.

We will come in and discuss your needs and supply a quote which defines the scope of work to be performed. When we agree that all issues are covered by the document, we can provide a very accurate timeline for performing the modifications to your equipment.

At DCS we use the latest programming tools available. We take a structured approach to programming with the goal of designing reusable code. We break the logic up into functional sections. By designing the code in this way our customers can typically maintain the code themselves for many years. We also believe in writing self-documenting code. This approach costs a little more in development time but will save our customers considerable time supporting the equipment over its usable life.
